Alison joined TurksLegal in January 2013 in the Commercial Disputes & Transactions Group, Sydney. She subsequently relocated to the firm’s Melbourne office in July 2015.
Alison has acted for trade credit providers, brokers, insurers, large corporates, insolvency practitioners and financial institutions in the areas of trade credit insurance, commercial litigation and insolvency.
Her principal areas of practice include:
- Trade credit insurance and litigation;
- Contractual disputes;
- Debt recovery actions, winding up and bankruptcy proceedings;
- Defending liquidator’s preference claims; and
- Representing liquidators and bankruptcy trustees in recovery actions arising from insolvency administrations.
Alison regularly appears in the Victorian Magistrates’, County and Supreme Courts, Federal Court and Federal Circuit Court, and conducts litigation across a number of other interstate jurisdictions. She also provides training for junior lawyers and paralegals.
Alison completed the Insolvency Education Program ‘ARITA Advanced Certification’ through the University of Technology, Sydney in 2017.
Alison regularly presents to clients on topics related to her areas of legal expertise.
She is currently on the VIC/TAS Council of the Australian Institute of Credit Management (AICM).
