We are proud to be a major partner of the National Centre for Childhood Grief (NCCG), and have been providing fundraising, financial and volunteering support to this valuable organisation since 2014.
The NCCG provides loving support in a safe place where children grieving a death can share their experience as they learn to live with its impact on their lives. The Centre is a well-established organisation, whose founders, Dianne McKissock OAM & Mal McKissock OAM, are internationally recognised for their expertise in the specialist field of childhood bereavement. The Centre also provides education and training for individuals, schools and other organisations handling the grief of children and young people.
Turks is delighted to continue our support for the NCCG by donating a series of ipads to NCCG Counsellors in support of their online learning and data analysis programs.
Turks is also a proud national partner of Orange Sky Australia (OSA), a charity that offers the world's first free mobile laundry and shower service for people experiencing homelessness. In Australia there are over 116,000 people experiencing homelessness on any given night. We are totally inspired by the amazing work that OSA is doing to help those doing it tough.
OSA has a simple formula; it provides a platform for every day Australians to connect through a regular laundry and shower service. The focus is on creating a safe, positive and supportive environment for people who are too often ignored or who feel disconnected from the community. OSA volunteers are not social workers or experts on homelessness - they are empathetic listeners and great conversationalists.
We are also delighted to support a number of charity events through fund raising and provide Christmas toy donations to a variety of children’s charities.
