Lisa Morrissey, Partner
Lisa started with TurksLegal as a law clerk in 1999 the Sydney Commercial Litigation team whilst completing her studies. Following her admission as a solicitor, Lisa has advanced within the firm and is now a partner. She practices in both our Banking Group and our Commercial Disputes & Transactions Group and manages teams involved in both groups. Lisa’s particular expertise is as a litigator. She acts in a number of areas including banking litigation, secured and unsecured recoveries, commercial disputes and insolvency law (in which she has obtained post-graduate qualifications). Lisa has conducted complex litigation on a range of commercial disputes in various State Courts and the Federal Court. Lisa plays a pivotal role in our internal training program. She has written widely on topics related to practice in the field of banking and commercial litigation. Lisa has also been instrumental in the development and implementation of our proprietary litigation management software, TurksFocus, which is used by major clients across several practice groups.

David McCrostie, Partner
David joined TurksLegal as an undergraduate in 1991. After more than 20 years of experience in enforcing creditors’ rights and insolvency, David now heads our Banking Group. Given his long experience and expertise in insolvency, David continues to conduct and supervise litigation and projects in the area Commercial Disputes & Transactions. In the area of Banking Litigation, David heads teams in Sydney and Melbourne who act for Big 4 and regional banks. In 2003, David was invited to join the NSW Supreme Court’s specialist Corporations List Users’ Group. This is a group of senior practitioners (both barristers and solicitors) and regulators that liaise directly with the Court’s administrative and judicial officers concerning the running of the lists and developments in the law. In 2006, David was appointed a member of the Law Council of Australia’s specialist Insolvency and Reconstruction Law Committee. The Law Council's Committee consists of legal practitioners with specialised legal knowledge and experience in insolvency that provides guidance to the Law Council in its dealings with State and Federal Governments when relevant issues emerge. Articles David has written appear in the Insolvency Law Bulletin and he has been an instructor on the post-graduate Advanced Insolvency Program run jointly by the University of Southern Queensland and the Insolvency Practitioners’ Association of Australia. He is frequently involved in the organisation, preparation and delivery of both internal and external seminars.
