John joined Turks in early 2012 and is a Special Counsel in our Commercial group.
John has over ten year’s post-admission experience in a broad range of areas including securities and asset protection advice, regulatory risk assessments, and litigation. He currently specialises in personal property securities and nicotine regulation.
John works with multinational and local suppliers, insolvency practitioners, banks and financiers, trade credit insurers and tobacco companies.
John’s career highlights include advising on the introduction of alternative nicotine delivery systems to the Australian, New Zealand and Pacific markets; completing the risk and regulatory assessments for the introduction of a new electronic cigarette product into New Zealand; and drafting of the legal sections in the KPMG illicit tobacco in Australia and New Zealand reports. He was also involved in the leading case on section 46 of the Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (Cth), Warehouse Sales Pty Ltd (in liq) & Lewis and Templeton v LG Electronics Australia Pty Ltd  VSC 644.
