David joined Turks in 2019 and is a Partner in our Brisbane Insurance team, bringing with him 25 years’ experience in insurance.

David specialises in workers compensation insurance matters, including defending workers compensation common law claims in Qld and Work Injury Damages in NSW. He also undertakes strategic defence of public liability and professional indemnity claims, as well as recoveries, general insurance, indemnity advice and dispute resolution.

David has worked in both private practice and in-house at insurers, most recently heading up an internal national litigation and dispute resolution team for a top ASX corporation. He is recognised as an expert in personal injury and insurance litigation with a deep understanding of client’s requirements borne of personal experience.

Significant claims that David has been involved in include a multi-party class action arising from a failed third party litigation funding scheme in the UK, and the successful defence of a high-profile personal injury claim involving allegations of negligence against directors personally and misconduct by solicitors, counsel and the judiciary.
