Amy has 15 years of legal experience. She commenced with the firm as a law clerk working in our Sydney office in the area of debt recovery and related litigation. Following her admission Amy has specialised in debt recovery, winding up and bankruptcy proceedings and commercial litigation. She practices also in the areas of Banking Litigation and Insolvency (in which she holds post graduate qualifications).
Amy manages debt litigation matters and undertakes windings up and bankruptcies and more difficult defended recovery matters. Amy has the role of immediate supervisor of junior lawyers who deal with recovery litigation.
Amy is also an important part of the Litigation team in our Sydney Commercial Disputes & Transactions Group, as she provides training for junior lawyers and paralegals not just in relation to legal issues but also concerning the specific practices that we have in place for major clients. These practices include not just our reporting and review requirements but also the use of our unique litigation management software, TurksFocus, which is in turn accessed by several major clients with large matter portfolios.
In terms of her direct engagement in files and in addition to her supervisory work, Amy conducts matters on behalf of banks and insolvency practitioners in all relevant State courts and the Federal Court.
Amy conducts client training and plays a key role in producing content and providing instruction in our internal winding up and bankruptcy programs.
Amy has successfully completed the post graduate insolvency program produced by the Insolvency Practitioners’ Association in conjunction with the University of Southern Queensland.
