We are delighted to welcome Sharon Molenaar as a Special Counsel in our Employers Liability practice.

Sharon is a highly skilled lawyer with significant experience in NSW workers compensation and personal injury, having practiced exclusively in the area since 2002. Additionally, Sharon has specialised knowledge of the workers compensation scheme applying to coal miners, having worked in an extensive insurance litigation practice in the mining industry on behalf of Coal Mines Insurance, frequently appearing before the District and Supreme Courts.  

Sharon joins Turks from Sparke Helmore where she was a special counsel in their State Compensation team. Sharon acts for and advises insurers and employers across a broad range of workers compensation matters including advising on the assessment of liability, quantum and potential Section 151Z recovery. Sharon has established a strong reputation for proactive, straightforward advice. She is a skilled advocate and negotiator.

Sharon recognises the importance of understanding the whole-of-business needs of her clients. She is solution-focused and draws on her years of experience to develop and implement strategies that assist her clients respond to claims and achieve the best possible overall outcome. Her appointment will add further depth and capability to our insurance practice.
