Irina has over 6 years’ experience specialising in life and disability insurance claims on individual and group risk products, including death, disability, and trauma claims.

Prior to joining Turks Irina worked at a leading plaintiff law firm and has acquired a broad experience advising on liability arising from claims for total and permanent disablement, death, trauma and income protection benefits, including the construction of policies and trust deeds, the interpretation and application of the Insurance Contracts Act 1984 and avoidance issues arising out of non-disclosure and misrepresentation.

Irina also has experience in the areas of road accidents (Transport Accident Commission), workers’ compensation (WorkCover), public liability and insurance claims, and a broad range of commercial litigation matters.

Irina has experience practicing in Victoria (in the Magistrates’, County and Supreme Courts of Victoria), Western Australian (in the District and Supreme Courts of Western Australia), and in the Federal Court of Australia. She has also represented applicants at the Superannuation Complaints Tribunal and the Australian Financial Complaints Authority.
