Allan joined Turks in 2014, after having been a senior associate at one of the top global law firms, and is a Partner in our Commercial Disputes & Transactions Group and the leader of the banking team in Melbourne.

Allan’s clients include insolvency practitioners, SME businesses and directors, trade creditors and banks and financial institutions,

Allan has significant experience in all aspects of commercial litigation and insolvency, and has advised both receivers and liquidators in some of the highest profile insolvency administrations in Australia in recent years.

Allan acted for the successful representative defendant in Kelly (Liquidator), in the matter of Halifax Investment Services Pty Ltd (In Liquidation) [2021] FCA 531 and [2021] NZHC 1113, notable because it involved one of the first instances of joint sittings of the High Court of New Zealand and Federal Court of Australia.

Allan has specialized in providing advice on insolvency, director’s duties, and general commercial disputes since 2004.

He has authored a number of industry publications and is an active member of a number of industry associations.

Allan was nominated as a finalist in the 2022 Australian Institute of Credit Management (AICM) Pinnacle Awards in the Legal Representative of the Year category.
